Confronting Moragia at the summit of Death Mountain in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a unique aerial battle that demands mastery over Zonai vehicles. Emerging directly from the volcanic crater, this three-headed rock creature guards the entryway to the Death Mountain Chasm. Understanding the proper flight setup and offensive timing ensures you can defeat this boss quickly without taking unnecessary damage.

Preparing Your Flying Machine for Takeoff

Before initiating the battle, you will find a Zonai Wing pre-equipped with Fans and a Steering Stick on the platform. Using Ultrahand, reposition the Wing near the edge of the cliff so that it points away from the mountain peak before launching. Facing away from the terrain gives you enough clearance to take off smoothly and gain initial altitude.

If you launch towards the mountain wall, steering can become difficult and prevent you from gaining necessary height. Adjusting your camera angles and flight trajectory right after takeoff makes it much easier to track Moragia's movements. The provided Zonai battery power on this preset Wing is infinite for the fight, allowing you to focus entirely on maneuvering.

Targeting Moragia's Three Rock Heads

Moragia consists of three distinct fiery heads made of marbled rock sprouting out from the crater. To damage the boss, you must use Yunobo's charge ability while steering the glider in mid-air. As you approach a head, line up your vehicle directly with the target so Yunobo can lock on properly.

Press the attack button to launch Yunobo like a projectile directly into one of the three rock heads. A single direct hit is all it takes to completely destroy one head. Once a head is shattered, immediately pivot your glider around to search for the remaining two targets.

Dodging Volcanic Attacks and Projectiles

While you navigate through the sky, Moragia periodically launches slow-moving lava rocks towards your flying machine. These projectiles move predictably, making them easy to avoid simply by pulling back on the steering stick or altering your flight direction slightly. Maintaining a steady altitude prevents the lava boulders from clipping your glider's wings.

It is advisable to wear flame-resistant armor in case an unexpected projectile grazes Link during flight. Staying calm and maintaining moderate distance allows you to survey the arena between attacks. Once all three heads are destroyed, Moragia will collapse, granting access to the depths below.
